How does one become a Conventual Franciscan?

If you have received the gift of "vocation" and you want to become a Conventual Franciscan, come and live with us during one of the bi-annual Vocation Search-In Weeks or simply visit one of the vocation promoters. This gives us a chance to get to know you better and to help decide whether or not you have a vocation to our way of life. It is highly recommended that you find a spiritual director to accompany you in your discernment. The applicant will be ask to write a personal reflection on his vocational call and to send it to the vocation director. (If he resides in Metro Manila, he may visit us for more information regarding our way of life.)

Each applicant will be assisted by the vocation promoter who will introduce him to the friars in the community. The vocation director will respond to the inquiry and send a copy of our brochure. If he is a serious applicant, the community may invite him for one of the Search-In encounters. During the Search-In the applicant will begin the interview and assessment process. At the conclusion of this process, the Acceptance Committee will come to a decision. If accepted, the applicant will be invited to join the aspirancy program.
